CCBN announces Canadian Parliament internship winner at reception marking 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Canada and Croatia

Zagreb, 20 June 2018 – Thanks to the CCBN, Bernays University College student Darija Jeger will work as an intern for the fall session in the Parliament of Canada in Ottawa as part of the team of an MP, where she will learn more about and become more familiar with the MP’s everyday activities and obligations. The winner was announced at this year’s special Canada Day reception on the occasion of the celebration of the 25th Anniversary of diplomatic relations between Canada and Croatia, organised by the Ambassador of Canada H.E. Daniel Maksymiuk and featuring sculptures by Canadian-Croatian artist Mihael Štebih.

The objective of the internship organised by the CCBN is to allow the selected student to gain international work experience, as well as to become familiar with Canada’s political system and the work of an MP. Furthermore, it is an opportunity for Croatia and Canada to strengthen their successful bilateral cooperation and to mark the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Interest for the internship at Edward Bernays University College was high, with 4 candidates reaching the final interview stage with the CCBN’s selection committee. Student Darija Jeger was selected, who will use her stay in Ottawa to gain valuable knowledge and experience, and to further enhance her communication skills, which will certainly help her in her further professional development. Congratulations, Darija!
