Večernji List has announced the fifth edition of their selection of Person of the Year and presented its ten nominees for this prestigious award. Among the nominees are three politicians, including President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović and Božo Petrov, three persons in culture and arts, two scientists, two athletes, a young innovator and our very own CCBN president, Joe Bašić. The Person of the Year will be decided by an 11-member panel of prominent public figures and Večernji List editors and journalists. Readers can also vote for their favourite at www.vecernji.hr. The winner will be proclaimed at a ceremony on 22 January 2016 at the Hotel Esplanade in Zagreb.

The man who brought to Split the Ultra Festival,  the world’s greatest electronic music brand. This mega-event has positioned Split high up on the global rankings of tourism destinations. In just a few days, the city received more than 150,000 visitors and 300,000 overnight stays. Joe Bašić was born in Canada to Croatian emigrants from Lika. He worked as an event manager for several global companies, but decided to move to Croatia in 1997 and start up his own private business.
